Meet Our Traveling Nurses

Whether you are a first-time traveler looking for some hand holding or a veteran traveler looking for your next adventure, Advantage RN can meet your needs. Here are some comments about traveling with Advantage RN from a few of our nurses:

Traveling NursesDear Crystal: I travel with Advantage RN because I couldn't ask for a better crew to make traveling over 4000 miles a wonderful experience.

I just wanted to drop you an email to let you know just how pleased I am with Advantage RN. You know you personally are the best recruiter, and I will go where you go. But, after all the different companies we have been with, Advantage RN is the best. I know this assignment was a tough one to get ready. First everything happened so fast, really it was a quick start. Then, we had the the fiasco with the Alaska Board of Nursing. Well, that’s all I am saying about that! But everyone -- from Faye who answers the phone to Michelle at QA to Charlotte who helped me with the BON – has been great!! And I can't say enough about Angie! My plane flight was complicated because I needed multiple seats, but thru it all, Angie did an amazing job!! She got me the best possible flights -- and the car!!! I love my apartment!!! Everyone should be commended for the good job they do and I couldn't ask for a better crew to make traveling over 4000 miles a wonderful experience. So please, let the management of these wonderful people know that they have a very pleased nurse – or, as you say “prima donna.” Thank you so much!!!

Sharon C., RN

Traveling NursesI travel with Advantage RN because they’re the best…

Working as a nurse for Advantage RN has been the high point of my nursing career. Great opportunities, fantastic assignments, awesome compensation and benefits make this the travel nursing company to work for. Come and join us. You'll be glad you did.

Tony K., RN

Traveling NursesWe travel because it's a no brainer…

Joshua and I met at Pikeville Medical Center in KY – the first hospital we both worked for out of nursing school – as Critical Care/CVICU RNs. We became quick friends and shared a common goal of traveling the country as travel nurses together. As soon as we got the experience needed to travel, we hit the road.

Our first assignment was in the tiny town of Show Low, AZ. We visited the Grand Canyon, Phoenix, Flagstaff, Sedona, and of course VEGAS!! It was amazing! Our friendship was amazing too: and what started out as a friendship blossomed into a full blown romance!

Now 13 contracts, five years, and three companies later, we are married and on an assignment we love in Cincinnati. We're staying a little closer to our new home but continue to travel because we can’t give up the "advantages" of travel nursing -- the money definitely overrides the drive and with Advantage RN's excellent benefits package, it makes the decision a no brainer!!

A huge THANK YOU to Advantage RN for being such a wonderful company to work for; more specifically, a thank you to Jeannie, our recruiter. She does everything in her power to keep us happy and goes out of her way to treat us like family. We talk to her as a friend, not an employer...she's the best! Thanks Jeannie!

Mindy and Joshua B., RNs

Traveling NurseI travel because my recruiter is there for me…

I have been an RN for 36 years and my specialty is critical care. I first started traveling in 1996 and have been traveling full time since April 2005. I have been with Advantage RN since 2005. My recruiter is Justin Hess. He has been there for me, always looking out for my best interests and on top of things. I have completed 23 contracts as a traveler and my favorite ones have been through Advantage RN. I feel fortunate to have a recruiter like Justin who cares about me as a person, not a contract. Justin has become a friend, a bond that is rare to find today. With other companies I have had recruiters who never call to make sure everything is ok on an assignment. Justin is always available and keeps in contact with me. I plan on staying with Advantage RN until I retire.

Ann S., RN

P.S. By the way, I have the highest praise for everyone who works in the Asheville, NC Advantage RN office. They are the greatest – always friendly and pleasant.

Traveling NurseTraveling with Advantage RN has been amazing…

I have been traveling for three years and love working for Advantage RN. My recruiter, Jeannie, works so hard for me. She is amazing and does anything she can to get me what I need. She is always there just to listen. I know that not all companies are like this, and appreciate her greatly. Traveling has been amazing for me – the paycheck is awesome and the experience incredible. It actually allows me to be home more and make more money for less work.

Traveling NurseI Travel Because My Recruiter Makes it So Easy

Dear Stacey: I wanted to say thank you for all the help with finding my first travel job and assisting with all the "bumps in the road." You have been super. My new hospital is a wonderful facility and the other nurses are really nice to work with. Christine (Housing Department) found me a new apartment that is great. Anyway, just wanted to say thank you, and tell you that I really appreciate it. Have a great week.

Karen K, RN

Traveling NurseI travel because I like the experience as much as the paycheck…

I initially decided to try traveling because I wanted to enjoy being a nurse again. Although I had support, I was stressed and getting burned out from things I could not control -- like hospital politics and staffing holes. I was tired from having to pick up the slack. I now am enjoying my job again. I have gained more knowledge than I ever could have by working full time in the comfort zone of my home hospital. To me, traveling with Advantage RN is one of my best career choices yet. The experience is almost as great as the paycheck.

Traveling NurseI travel with Advantage RN because I’m being taken care of…

Advantage RN isn't the first travel company I've worked with, but I'm so very glad that my recruiter, Jeannie, got in touch with me three years ago. I could go on about the high rate of pay, the excellent private housing, and the health benefits, but honestly, I'm with Advantage RN because of Jeannie. She has been the absolute best in finding me the perfect job assignment everywhere I have wanted to go. I love traveling, but with a "normal" job, I would only get to do so once or twice a year. Now, with Advantage RN, knowing that everything is taken care of for me, I feel that I'm not taking a job assignment, rather I'm taking a 13-week vacation that will be interrupted by work a few days a week. Thanks to Jeannie helping me locate the best jobs around, I have seen more of this beautiful country we live in than most of the people I grew up around! I feel as though I'm living a dream... and it's one that I hope not to wake up from any time soon!

Traveling NurseI travel with Advantage RN because my Recruiter goes above and beyond…

Faye is amazing! I feel like she treats me like one of her own children. She goes above and beyond her duties as a recruiter. She tells me to call her WHENEVER I need her and is concerned not only about my assignment but also about my personal and emotional life as well as how I am handling being away from my home and family. Since there are so many travel nurse companies it's hard to decide who to go with, so on my second assignment I went with a different agency (not because Advantage RN did anything wrong). Well, I guess the saying, 'If it's not broken, don't fix it,” is true! To make a long story short, even when I worked with another travel nurse company, Faye stayed in touch with me, and I spoke with her more often than I did with my new recruiter! So on the following assignment, I came back to Faye and Advantage RN. It was great coming back to them for the money, too. Advantage RN pays better than most all other companies if not ALL!

Traveling NursesWe travel with Advantage RN because we can Travel Together…

I've been a traveling nurse for many years and have been with Advantage RN for the past four. Last year my wife started traveling with me. On a whim, we bought an RV. Now we are truly Traveling Nurses! Over the past year we’ve worked throughout the Southwest and now we are in California. We winter in Monterey – life’s tough! Advantage RN has been great – especially our recruiter Jeannie. So the next time you pass one of those “big rigs” on the road, give a wave. It might be the Moore's.

Travel NurseI travel with Advantage RN because they make the experience even better...

After our youngest son went to college, my husband and I decided to quit our full time jobs and I would become a travel nurse. After talking to a lot of travel nurse companies, we chose Advantage RN. Now my husband, our cocker spaniel Jasper, and I travel all over the South – from Virginia to Florida. Everyone I’ve worked with at Advantage RN is awesome – from Jeannie my Recruiter to Pat in Housing to Margie in Payroll. All you have to do is pack your suitcase and take your toothbrush -- everything else is set up for you. Over the past four years I have met nurses who have worked from Alaska to Hawaii and all across the U.S. I love travel nursing. Advantage RN just makes the experience that much better.

Job Nurse TravelI travel with Advantage RN because I feel like I'm a part of a family.

We love to travel, and for us Advantage RN is the way to go! My husband and I have a fifth wheel travel trailer, so our home is wherever we are. My Recruiter and the staff at Advantage RN always get us a job at or very close to where we tell them we want to go!

Working for this company is like being a part of a big family. I had some health problems last year and we had to go home to Nebraska. But that wasn't a problem -- the staff must have a direct line to God's ear because I got a job right in the town where my doctor was and where I was scheduled for my treatments. The best part was that it was just down the road from where our children live. They also made a special point of staying on top of my medical insurance and got me in the family medical leave program so we didn't have to pay the higher Cobra rates. The staff cares and asks about family and the big moments in your life.

After a year I got the "all clear" news, and we were ready to hit the road again. Advantage RN got us the job we wanted, so we will be spending the winter in sunny California!

Life is good and Advantage RN is a big part in that good life. Good friends, the best jobs and the best pay and benefits around. I recommend Advantage RN to everyone and anyone who wants to travel and have the support and pay you need to do what you love!

Travel NurseI travel with Advantage RN because my Recruiter is awesome...

My professional relationship with my awesome Recruiter, Molly, is what I like the best about Advantage RN. Molly is a wonderful and kind individual who cares about the happiness of her nurses. She keeps in touch with me when I’m on the road and works very hard at getting me the assignments I want – even when that might seem initially impossible! She also gets great pay rates for me. The other people I’ve been in touch with at Advantage RN are also helpful and supportive, and I enjoy working for the company.

Travel NurseI travel because I want to live my DREAM…

After being employed with Advantage RN for one year I feel like I'm finally "LIVING MY DREAM." The opportunities and individuals I've encountered have both motivated me and reinforced my self worth. I enjoy being recognized for the professional I am and the valuable contribution I bring to each assignment.

Travel NurseI travel because they make it so easy…

Everyone I've been in contact with at Advantage RN - from my recruiter to the Housing and QA departments to the people answering the phones - are great. They are so caring. They've helped me take all the baby steps needed to transition from staff nurse to travel nurse.

My recruiter has gone above and beyond for me and I always felt comfortable with her because I knew she was looking out for my best interests. I never felt pressured. I know what it's like to care because I'm a nurse, and my recruiter genuinely cares. She answered all my questions in a timely manner, helped me figure out where to go, introduced me to other nurses who had traveled to the hospital before, and helped me gain my new license. When I got to my site I found my housing to be well furnished and equipped with everything I needed as a traveler. I also found that there was someone at Advantage RN to call 24 hours a day if things weren't right. The whole experience has been great. I never thought I'd be able to travel, but Advantage RN gave me wonderful travel options and made the whole process so easy.

Travel NurseI travel with Advantage RN because THEY CARE...

My experience as a travel nurse with Advantage RN has been more than wonderful, it has been a blessing! Not only do they offer great packages for nurses, they are competent, trustworthy, attentive and caring people. Brandon Reynolds was initially my recruiter, but during the course of my employment with Advantage RN, he has become a dear and lifelong friend. In the aftermath of losing my home in New Orleans to Hurricane Katrina, Brandon was always there offering assistance in any way possible and providing a shoulder to cry on from thousands of miles away. Brandon and the staff at Advantage RN will always be part of my "family" and will forever hold a special place in my heart. I am proud to be associated with such a supportive and caring company!

Terri P., RN

Travel NurseI travel because I get what I want...

Advantage RN has made a big difference in my life. Thanks to them and my Recruiter, Jeannie (who is absolutely wonderful), I now view travel nursing differently than I originally did. When I first started to travel, I was apprehensive - it all sounded too good to be true. Well, it is good and it IS true! You need to believe what you hear. Jeannie has kept her word about everything -- from housing to assignments. I thought that it would be harder to get exactly what I wanted. It’s not. I am now seeing the country in a way that I wanted to. I just pick where I want to go, and Jeannie makes it happen. So if any nurse likes new places and faces and is trying to see the country, Advantage RN is the way to travel.

Jodie M, R.N.

Travel NurseI travel for the MONEY...

I have been traveling since 1998 and worked with several agencies before I found Advantage RN. The best thing about Advantage RN is that I make much more money working with them. I get my private housing yet I still make more each week. Let me give you an example of the money difference. A few years ago I worked with a travel nursing company at a hospital for 36 hours a week. On my first assignment with Advantage RN I worked 40 hours per week but with the same hourly wage I made with the other company. The difference in my take home pay between the two assignments was over $400/week! If you are going to travel, you might as well work with a company that is going to compensate you for it, and Advantage RN does that.

Allen A., RN

Travel NurseI travel with Advantage RN because the PEOPLE ARE GREAT...

Hi. My name is Andra' and I love being a travel nurse. I especially love traveling with Advantage RN. I am currently in Southern California for 13 weeks for Advantage RN. No matter where I am at or how much Advantage RN grows I continue to get the same excellent individualized attention with each assignment. I like knowing that if I have questions or even a problem I will be able to contact someone and get answers and solutions - 24 hours a day. Have I ever had a problem during an assignment? Yes, I have, and the Advantage RN team was happy to fix it. Just like that (snap), they went the extra mile to make things right! Most of the time things go smooth and are right from the start. However knowing they are willing to fix what is not right is very nice.

The Advantage RN crew is the best, but my recruiter is the VERY best! Her name is Maureen. She is a huge part of my life! She never seems to forget anything and always follows up. She makes me feel special by always remembering my birthday and being concerned about my family. She keeps up with everything in my life that is important to me just like anyone who truly cares about you would do. She is one the most caring and sincere people I have ever had the pleasure to know! She's always there to help me, to listen, and to work hard to get me what I want and need. I truly appreciate her!

I really love and appreciate that everyone at Advantage RN knows my name and are so very nice when I call. The best thing is that if Maureen is out of the office every person there is willing to help me for her so that I do not have to wait. That is what I call SUPERIOR service and true team work.
